Financial Analyst

The Role: 
The successful candidate will be required to:
  • To monitor and analyse the direction of SBU performance against budget and ensure profit targets are achieved
  • To provide advisory financial support to the SBU in the area of coordinating the financial aspect of its marketing activities 
  • Managing team and individual performance through regular reviews, monitoring objectives and ensuring development needs are identified and actioned.
  • To prepare reports to determine viability of business opportunities and implications of threats.
  • To prepare the SBU monthly financial reports
The Person: 
The Right candidate must
  • Have B.Sc degree in Accountancy
  • Have a minimum of 5 years working experience in a similar position
  • Computer expertise especially in MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint and accounting software such as Peachtree
  • Analytical & Numerical Skills
  • Membership of Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) Chartered
  • Good understanding of MFG and resource software
  • Sound Knowledge of accounting and financial principles and practic

Key Responsibilities
  • Present and sell company’s products and services to current and potential clients to increase sales and meet sales targets. 
  • Identify sales prospects and leads, follow new leads and referrals resulting from field activity and convert to sales
  • Develop marketing plans and generate the tactics necessary to ensure that those plans are realized.   
  • Keep abreast of market developments, set out and annually review the company’s sales and marketing strategy and tactics for all products and services and manage the activities of the company’s sales force, setting targets and work schedules and putting monitoring programs. 
  • Prepare sales presentations and proposals. 
  • Develop and maintain sales materials and current product knowledge. 
  • Establish and maintain current client and potential client relationships and a database of their details. 
  • Identify and resolve client concerns. 
  • Prepare a variety of periodic status reports, including marketing/sales activity, sales performance, competitor activities, follow-up, and adherence to goals. 
  • Communicate new product and service opportunities, special developments, information, or feedback gathered through field activity to appropriate company staff. 
DUTIES
  • A good first degree in social sciences
  • MBA is an added advantage
  • Salesmanship, energy and drive
  • 4-5 years experience in similar position and good knowledge of the oil and gas industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work without supervision or minimal supervision
  • Ability to listen, detect and anticipate client needs.

Education and area of expertise
  • A Level +2 years or  +5 years, IT Technician or HND Information management, Undergraduate Diploma in Technology in Networking & Telecommunication (DUT in French) with experience;
  • Cisco CCNA Certification and/or Linux Certification (Red Hat certified Engineer or Linux Professional Institute)
