Maersk Line Job Vacancy for Terminal and Cost Coordinator Lagos, Nigeria


Duties
· Supervise port and vessel operations including coordination with Africa Liner Operations Cluster (LOC), third party husbanding agents and our Global Service Centre.
· Ensure all marine operations systems are implemented and used at optimum level, identify and pursue opportunities and processes for developing better and more efficient working procedures.
· Handle operational cost systems in line with cost control guidelines within the Nigeria cluster, Africa Liner Operations Cluster & Centre Planning.
· Increase transparency, visibility and recovery of operational costs within the Central West Africa cluster comprising Nigeria, Benin, Ghana and Togo, with particular emphasis on Nigeria.
Area of responsibility
1. Terminal co-ordination and monitoring vessel operations
2Maintain active communication with the LOC and other cluster locations on vessel situation reports, berth schedule and operational productivity.
3 Monitor all terminal operations in order to ensure effective ship working programmes are maintained to ensure vessel meets berthing and sailing deadlines in line with On Time Delivery targets.
4 Provide terminal presence by maintaining constant visibility checks on all quay side and yard activities continuously and provide operational reports as required by management.
5 Monitor all third–party vessel husbanding suppliers in order to ensure performance at an efficient and effective level by regular performance review and taking appropriate action in order to ensure compliance.
6 Continuously seek to optimise productivity in all areas including but not limited to terminal productivity.
7 Provide daily update on terminal activities, market intelligence on competition activities and strategies within the port
8 Assist the Operations Manager in creating, implementing and continuously refining and updating procedures to improve overall efficiency and profitability for the Lines and the Company.
9 Ensure that all procedures pertaining to vessel operations are in place and adhered to.
10 Assist the Operations Manager in updating the scenario planning and in line with the terminal equipment, infrastructures and landscapes.
11 Assist the Operations Manager in updating contingency plans in line with all operational scenarios and bottlenecks.
12 Provide the Operations Manager with performance statistics as per standard definitions or as required.
13 Maintain good and active working relationship with suppliers and shipping agents.

2nd Job Possition
. Co-ordination for Cost Control
1 Manage the SAP Purchase Order (PO)/Goods receipt (GR) process
2 Monitor off-shored tasks to ensure tasks are completed timely and accurately.
3 Create PO and GR for non-off shored tasks
4 Create, maintain and improve relations with internal and external stakeholders.
5 Develop relationships with our stakeholders with goal of ensuring the company is best positioned to make use of all developments earlier than competition.
6 Focal point for fortnightly reconciliation of vendor accounts and payments including Nigeria Port Authority (NPA), Nigerian Maritime Administration & Safety Agency (NIMASA) as well as Terminal and off-dock operators.
7 Focal point for the resolution of disputes on invoices arising from, amongst others incorrect rate levels, incorrect application of rates, etc.
8 As country SAP RtP system super-user, ensure all system and transactional related issues are addressed in an adequate and timely manner.

Job Description

EQUIPMENT AND EMR CO-ORDINATOR
 Location:  Lagos, Nigeria
Duties
· Assist the Equipment Manager in all overall supervision of Capacity and Equipment Flow Management within Nigeria
· Executing Equipment Maintenance & Repair (EMR) & Reefer related activities including coordination regarding Reefer handling with Terminals & Vessels & Repair Vendors including CIS.
· 3rd parties recoveries follow up
· Follow up for requirement of HSSE for EMR function.
· Coordination with Liner Operations Cluster (LOC), Global Service Centre, and Centre Operations on all equipment related issues for Nigeria.
Area of responsibility
Equipment Maintenance & Management Activities.
Coordination regarding containers repairs with repair vendors and yards/terminals
Arrange for real time system update of both damaged & repaired container along with system reconciliation on established frequency.
Follow up for longstanding containers that fall under the scope of EMR function and provide status reporting for longstanding containers meeting. Plan action for repairs, evacuation & disposal if required as per global EMR policies.
Assist Equipment Manger in ensuring that container estimation & approval in Maersk Equipment Maintenance and Repair System is kept updated with exceptions follow-up with vendors, yards & Centre Equipment desks.
Stock reporting with respect to Damage/Sound containers at various yards along with Repaired container figures on daily basis. Provision of relevant status reports for management stats.
3rd Party Recoveries handling & tracing and Claims Handling
3rd party recoveries for dirty, damaged & total loss containers follow up pertaining to local damage recovery scheme and to coordinate with Finance & Accounting department for credit to relevant Line EMR recovery account.
Follow up for 3rd party recoveries mails for damaged containers moved over board and to prepare reply accordingly. Preparation of database for each container scoping details of correspondence from abroad, Terminal / Yards reports & Maersk Equipment Maintenance and Repair System estimates.
Report on containers repaired & cleaned on account of 3rd party at Repair yards and provide monthly report to Finance department for onward crediting to recovery accounts.
Handle Claims with respect to damage of containers and arrange for survey if required.
Handle Reefer claims in coordination with Claims department and action to arrange the necessary requirements for handling the same.
Reefers handling related activities.
Coordinate & Liaise with Inland Container Depots (ICDs) and terminals for handling empty and live reefers.
Coordinate & arrange for preparation of reefers for export bookings.
Ensure complete and timely submission of Reefers manifest to the vessel & terminal.
Ensure proper reporting to the relevant and concerned department and parties regarding following
Reefer technical details including temperature settings for update of internal systems
Extra days plugging of import and export reefers.
Gens set reporting for export import, export and US military reefers.
Detention Reporting
Insurance application for upcountry reefers.
Cold Treatment Reefers reporting
Corresponding regarding all reefers aspects.
