Duties
· Supervise port and vessel operations including coordination with
Africa Liner Operations Cluster (LOC), third party husbanding
agents and our Global Service Centre.
· Ensure all marine operations systems are implemented and used at optimum level, identify and pursue
opportunities and processes for developing better and more efficient working procedures.
·
Handle operational cost systems in line with cost control guidelines
within the Nigeria cluster, Africa Liner Operations Cluster & Centre
Planning.
· Increase transparency, visibility and recovery of operational costs
within the Central West Africa cluster comprising Nigeria, Benin, Ghana
and Togo, with particular emphasis on Nigeria.
Area of responsibility
1. Terminal co-ordination and monitoring vessel operations
2Maintain active communication with the LOC and other cluster
locations on vessel situation reports, berth schedule and operational
productivity.
3 Monitor all terminal operations in order to ensure effective ship
working programmes are maintained to ensure vessel meets berthing and
sailing deadlines in line with On Time Delivery targets.
4 Provide terminal presence by maintaining constant visibility checks
on all quay side and yard activities continuously and provide
operational reports as required by management.
5 Monitor all third–party vessel husbanding suppliers in order to
ensure performance at an efficient and effective level by regular
performance review and taking appropriate action in order to ensure
compliance.
6 Continuously seek to optimise productivity in all areas including but not limited to terminal productivity.
7 Provide daily update on terminal activities, market intelligence on competition activities and strategies within the port
8 Assist the Operations Manager in creating, implementing and
continuously refining and updating procedures to improve overall
efficiency and profitability for the Lines and the Company.
9 Ensure that all procedures pertaining to vessel operations are in place and adhered to.
10 Assist the Operations Manager in updating the scenario planning and
in line with the terminal equipment, infrastructures and landscapes.
11 Assist the Operations Manager in updating contingency plans in line with all operational scenarios and bottlenecks.
12 Provide the Operations Manager with performance statistics as per standard definitions or as required.
13 Maintain good and active working relationship with suppliers and shipping agents.
2nd Job Possition
. Co-ordination for Cost Control
1 Manage the SAP
Purchase Order (PO)/Goods receipt (GR) process
2 Monitor off-shored tasks to ensure tasks are completed timely and accurately.
3 Create PO and GR for non-off shored tasks
4 Create, maintain and improve relations with internal and external stakeholders.
5 Develop relationships with our stakeholders with goal of ensuring
the company is best positioned to make use of all developments earlier
than competition.
6 Focal point for fortnightly reconciliation of vendor accounts and
payments including Nigeria Port Authority (NPA), Nigerian Maritime
Administration & Safety Agency (NIMASA) as well as Terminal and
off-dock operators.
7 Focal point for the resolution of disputes on invoices arising
from, amongst others incorrect rate levels, incorrect application of
rates, etc.
8 As country SAP RtP system super-user, ensure all system and
transactional related issues are addressed in an adequate and timely
manner.

2+ years experience of liner shipping business
University degree
